These chewy and thick chocolate chip cookies will bring you right back to your childhood. They are made with a soft and buttery dough that is loaded with chocolate chips. Each bite will melt in your mouth they are that good!

The Best Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
Thick and Chewy perfection. With a buttery soft cookie dough base that is full of semisweet chocolate chips, these cookies are a classic but delicious.
Servings: 32 Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 sticks unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
- 1 ¼ cup light brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- ¾ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups semisweety chocolate chips
Instructions
Chocolate Chip Cookies:
- Add the unsalted butter to a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave until fully melted, then set aside to cool for about 15 minutes.
- To the cooled melted butter, add the light brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until the mixture is smooth.
- Add in all the dry ingredients and mix until the dough is just combined, leaving behind a few streaks of flour. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, portion the dough into 2-tablespoon balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 375. Place 8 cookie dough balls on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 12-14 minutes then allow the cookies to remain on the hot baking sheet for an additional 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Notes
- Semisweet or milk chocolate chips will work! Whatever your preference is.
